Is a live scan the same as a background check at MEPS?

I am currently applying for the Army. I have disclosed my criminal history with my recruiter even my juvenile history. The recruiter station where I live has a live scan which to my understanding is new for recruiter stations. According to the Sgt who did the scan, he said it will check all states and even international. My recruiter stated anytime I was fingerprinted in the past that it would show up. Nothing from my juvenile record showed up, only two misdemeanors and some traffic tickets came up on my adult record. When I go to MEPS will they reveal more from my past?
